About The Conference
The School of Biosciences, Mar Athanasios College for Advanced StudiesThiruvalla (MACFAST) is hosting an International Conference on Food & Industrial Biotechnology ‘BIOSPECTRUM’ 2019 from 24th to 26th November 2019. This is the fifth international conference organized under Biospectrum series. Over the past two decades, the progression in Food & Industrial Biotechnology has generated a wide range of novel products that have redefined the role of microbes and other biological systems in solving hunger and poverty. Modern Food & Industrial Biotechnology is an extension of ancient techniques for developing useful products by taking advantage of natural biological processes. As techniques and instrumentation are being refined, the technologies based on chemical processes are being increasingly replaced by those based on biological systems. The application of modern industrial biotechnology includes improving the added value of food and making food processing effective through fermentation, genetic engineering, enzyme engineering, and protein engineering.
This conference aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Food and Industrial Biotechnology. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in this field.
